Imo, if you play mid and don’t win lane, help your side lanes out and dominate the map, you’re going to lose. In contrast, macro is more focused on which moves to make based on each situation for example, when to push a tower down and whether it’s worth going back to base to buy items. You need to rotate around the map, bait people into fights, take objectives and things to gain a lead without fighting, etc.īut 70% of the game is still fighting. What happens if you draft a split pushing comp and fall behind verse a team fighting comp? Unless you’re mechanics are just so much better than the enemy, it’s not going to end well just trying to mechanically outplay. Strategy is not the defining factor, but it’s a huge workaround to shit mechanics. However, it is a strategy game - you have counterpicks in fighting games too, so it’s not like mechanics are above strategy in those games either. If you can’t dodge or land abilities, you really shouldn’t win the game. How are you going to learn the mechanics of every single ability of every champion (4x150, plus passives) besides just playing the game over and over? Mechanics are literally the backbone of the game. The game is just so in depth at this point.
